A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Meredith received her formal dance training
at Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts, the School of American Ballet and the Houston Ballet Academy. She made her professional debut at the age of seventeen with the Berkshire Ballet, where she danced soloist and principal roles from the classical repertory (The Sugar Plum Fairy, Bluebird pas de deux, Coppélia, Pas de Quatre), as well as interpreting contemporary and neo-classical works by Mary Margaret Gianoni, Gus Solomans Jr. and Daryl Gray. Since 1992 she has lived in France and toured Europe with the Ballet Classique de Paris and danced in the Paris Opera's production of Les Indes galantes under the direction of William Christie.
Realizing that on-stage performances were but one way of expressing her passion
for ballet, Meredith began teaching almost as soon as she became a professional dancer. In 1999 she joined the faculty of the American Academy of Danse in Paris, where she was ballet mistress to the performing company, then participated in the television production Star Academy as The Ballet Teacher in 2002. The following year brought the beginning of her own school in Paris and extensive guest teaching in France. Since 1998 she has been Artistic Director of ACM Ballet Théâtre and now lives and teaches in Lyon, France.
